The Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data related to our Retirement Services organization. This role requires proficiency in data analysis, accounting principles, and financial reporting to support informed decision-making within our organization.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Develop reporting methodologies to support business needs
Gather and consolidate financial data from multiple sources, including internal systems and external vendors.
Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights related to Annuities, Funding Agreements and Investments.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements while providing transparent and detailed reporting.
Assist in audit and compliance activities, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal controls, and industry best practices.
Reconciliation and Validation:
Perform regular reconciliations of investment transactions, ensuring consistency and accuracy between various data sources.
Validate data to ensure integrity, identify discrepancies, and take corrective actions as needed.
Process Improvement:
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data management processes, data accuracy, and accounting practices.
Develop and maintain process documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and streamline workflows.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience (2-5 years) in investment data analysis, accounting, or a related financial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in utilizing a variety of business software applications, including but not limited to Oracle, Clearwater, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL, and Python.
Familiarity with investment instruments, asset classes, and portfolio management concepts.
Attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data sets.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CIPM.
Experience with investment accounting software and systems.
Understanding of risk management principles and practices.
