About the Role:

As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role by performing blood collection procedures with precision and care. Your primary objective will be to obtain blood specimens from patients efficiently and safely, ensuring the integrity of samples for accurate laboratory analysis. You will interact directly with patients of diverse backgrounds, providing reassurance and clear communication to ease any concerns during the collection process. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining meticulous records, adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols, and collaborating closely with laboratory staff to support diagnostic and treatment processes. Your work will directly contribute to the timely and accurate diagnosis of medical conditions, ultimately impacting patient care and outcomes positively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of blood collection techniques and safety protocols.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA and other patient privacy regulations.
• Valid Driver's License. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient-facing roles.

Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, capillary, or arterial methods following established protocols.
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling and documentation of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Provide compassionate and clear communication to patients to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety.
• Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing and transport of specimens.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and report any adverse events or complications promptly.
• Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies related to patient confidentiality and safety.
