Job Title: Receiving Associate

Supervisor: Inventory Control and Acquisition Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Status: Full-time (40 hours) Non-Exempt

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school or equivalency diploma. Must possess basic computer skills. Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.

Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical warehouse setting and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, pulling, and reaching. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of a power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.


Position Summary: Responsible for the accurate electronic documentation of in-coming and outgoing receipts, inventory control, invoicing, and other administrative tasks associated with warehouse operations. Coordinates and schedules pick-up and delivery of goods.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Enters received items into inventory and prints pallet tags.
  2. Makes corrections to orders after they are pulled (i.e., out of stocks, replacement items etc.).
  3. Prints donor receipts for donated items.
  4. Ensures categorization of incoming goods, when entering product information, including using categories health and nutrition, and culturally relevant goods.
  5. Assigns inventory numbers to new items as they are received.
  6. Print invoices for agencies and delivery drivers.
  7. Schedules pick-ups and deliveries in collaboration with the Transportation team.
  8. Makes daily inventory adjustments.
  9. Mails donation receipts to donors.
  10. Answer telephone calls.
  11. Maintains temperature logs and files when completed.
  12. Creates mass invoices/handbills for the month.
  13. Prints pallet labels as needed.
  14. Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
  15. Inspects power equipment prior to use.

  2. Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
  3. Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.
