About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2019, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

The Calibration Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day verification, calibration, and repair of instrumentation across the Redwood Materials Battery Materials Campus. The role is responsible for the performance of verifications, calibrations, associated support tasks, and effective record keeping related to calibrations to support ISO certification.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform calibration, verification, functional testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation in manufacturing, laboratory, and pilot plant environments, with all work documented to ensure traceability, compliance, safety, quality, and uptime.

  • Maintain ISO-compliant calibration practices and documentation to support regulatory and quality requirements.
Coordinate and manage laboratory instrument calibrations through CMMS, including vendors, while maintaining instrumentation inventories, schedules, and records.

  • Repair and calibrate trade-used deck scales in accordance with Department of Agriculture requirements; obtain and maintain State Registered Weighmaster status.

  • Execute routine preventative calibrations on process instrumentation using CMMS to reduce reactive maintenance and unplanned downtime.

  • Partner with Controls Technicians, Engineering, Operations, and Lab teams to ensure clear ownership, scheduling, and reliability of instrumentation.

  • Develop in-house calibration capabilities for common instruments to reduce reliance on third-party vendors and drive cost savings.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification/degree in Instrumentation Technology or Electrical Systems Technology, or relevant experience in a related position.

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of self-motivation and ownership.

  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
