Reports to: Garden Centre Manager / Team Manager
We are looking for a confident and reliable volunteer to support our busy Garden Centre Gift Shop. After full training, you will be expected to work independently, serve customers confidently, and use your initiative during busy periods. Some retail or customer service experience would be beneficial.
- Serving customers using a computerised till (cash and card transactions)
- Providing friendly, independent customer service
- Stocking, pricing and displaying shop items and plants
- Checking in deliveries and scanning stock
- Caring for houseplants
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well presented
- Supporting and training others once confident
- Following Health & Safety procedures
- Able to work independently following training
- Proactive, reliable and confident
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Willing to support and train others
- Retail experience desirable but not essential
Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

What you'll do
- The volunteer will support the Garden Centre Gift Shop by serving customers, stocking items, and maintaining the shop's presentation. They may also assist in training others using the wellbeing service.
