Senior Software Engineer

<div class="content-intro"><p>With 1,000+ intelligence professionals serving over 1,900 clients worldwide, Recorded Future is the world’s most advanced, and largest, intelligence company!</p></div><p><strong>Backend Engineer (Contractor)</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a backend engineer to build the data and service layers enabling our gamification and value dashboard capabilities, ensuring our platform delivers accurate, scalable, and fast data insights to drive user engagement.</p> <p>Recorded Future’s Security Intelligence Solutions are used by our clients to stay on top of threats to their business. Within our tools, they can create alerts or search, analyze, and process the cybersecurity information we provide. The Applications team is responsible for building and continuously improving our web app, browser extension, and mobile app. These apps are constructed atop our immense dataset collected by other parts of the organization.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and maintain backend services using Scala and GraphQL.</li> <li>Build and optimize Elasticsearch and MongoDB data structures to support real-time analytics and gamification logic.</li> <li>Develop APIs for seamless integration with frontend dashboards.</li> <li>Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability.</li> <li>Collaborate with frontend and fullstack engineers to ensure effective integration.</li> <li>Contribute ideas to support the company's vision and challenge requirements to improve system quality and outcomes.</li> <li>Share knowledge and document backend best practices for the team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you'll bring to the role:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of backend development experience.</li> <li>Proficiency in Scala, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Python.</li> <li>Experience supporting gamification systems or analytics-driven dashboards.</li> <li>Familiarity with microservices architecture and API design.</li> </ul> <p><em>The base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$193,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The salary displayed reflects the range for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by state, work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K.
