Overview

The Instructional Designer 1 is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences by applying foundational instructional design principles. This role focuses on developing e-learning modules, job aids, and other training materials while ensuring quality and timely delivery. Working collaboratively within a team, the position incorporates feedback, applies accessibility standards, and leverages authoring tools to produce interactive content. A commitment to continuous learning, including basic AI literacy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success. 

 

The Instructional Designer 1 creates engaging learning experiences by applying foundational instructional design principles. This role supports the development of training materials and e-learning content, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. The position collaborates with team members, contributes ideas, and demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, including basic AI literacy and feedback integration. 

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  (Use bullets to list the top 10 major responsibilities, each comprising a minimum of 10% of the overall responsibilities) 

  • Apply fundamental instructional design principles to develop learning solutions. 
  • Design and develop e-learning modules, job aids, and other instructional materials. 
  • Complete assigned tasks independently while seeking guidance when needed. 
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines and quality standards. 
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and refine learning strategies. 
  • Incorporate feedback to improve instructional content and learner experience. 
  • Conduct basic needs analysis and recommend appropriate learning solutions. 
  • Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise) to create interactive content. 
  • Apply accessibility and inclusive design standards to all learning products. 
  • Support testing and quality assurance of learning products.  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  (Use to include the minimum qualification for the position – education and years of experience, travel required) 

 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field. 
  • 0–2 years of experience in instructional design or e-learning development. 
  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools and LMS platforms. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Occasional travel may be required. 

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES  (List the concepts, capabilities developed through training, and innate traits and talents that a person brings to a task or situation) 

 

Required: 

  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models. 
  • Basic AI literacy and ability to use AI tools for content creation. 
  • Proficiency in rapid authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Camtasia). 
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Openness to feedback and eagerness to learn new technologies.  

 

Preferred: 

  • Property management experience 

Pay Range

USD $70,700.00 - USD $120,300.00 /Yr.
