REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production.  Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, we have 17 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.  We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

Furnace Assistants will have the opportunity to start out making $22.41 and grow to $25.90 after 90 days with good attendance and performance.

Work only 15 days out of the month with 7 days off to have a good work life balance.

SIGN ON BONUS - $300 AFTER 90 DAYS (Rehires not eligible)

RETENTION BONUS - $600 AFTER 9 MONTHS (Rehires not eligible)

Hours: Rotating shift 7AM – 7PM and 7PM - 7AM. You will work BOTH Dayshift and Nightshift as part of your rotation.

Shift Rotation: 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 1 off, 3 on, 3 off, 4 on, 7 off and the rotation starts over.

As our new Furnace Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in all furnace operations as required in a timely but safe manner to ensure smooth running operations and a productive shift.  

This position requires a person willing to work in extreme temperatures, in an industrial manufacturing environment, and wearing protective equipment.

If you have manufacturing experience and are a safety-minded individual, then you could be a good candidate for this role.

Qualifications

Furnace Assistant

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Highly motivated, goal oriented, ethical, and challenge driven. 

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation. 

Physical Demands include:

- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. 

- Position requires the use of senses, including visual examination, observing surrounding traffic, and determining employee location. 

- Position requires the ability to judge distance and distinguish colors. 

- Position requires the use of touch and smell to identify problems with equipment, and the ability to speak and understand speech. 

- Must be adequately able to hear safety alarms.

- Position may require working in tight and confined working conditions. 

- Position will require working in extreme heat while working directly on or near furnaces. 

- Position requires the ability to climb, ascend/descend ladders, balance, and work at heights for extended periods of time. Also requires body movement such as walking, standing, reaching, crouching, sitting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and turning of torso.
