WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Job Purpose

The role of Warehouse/Yard Associate is to be responsible for all aspects of warehouse/yard functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse/yard in a safe and orderly fashion.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide excellent customer service to all “pick-up” customers.
2. Contribute to a positive team environment.
3. Receive materials coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
4. Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking product against the Purchase Order.
5. Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items and appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
6. Accurately place materials on shelves, in racks, in yard or other designated storage areas in a timely manner.
7. Assemble and fill orders to be delivered to customers. Pack and load product onto personal trucks according to company specifications.
8. Assist in verifying loads on delivery trucks to ensure accurate quantities and identifying any discrepancies.
9. Assist in verifying weight compliance is within limits on all loads prior to leaving the yard.
10. Protects organization reputation by keeping pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit-limit information confidential.
11. Conduct monthly physical inventory and report to Warehouse Manager.
12. Completes all required documentation accurately and timely.
13. Represent the company in its best light with honesty and integrity in every setting.
14. Willingness / Ability to gain product knowledge.
15. Other duties as assigned. (I.e., Archway, Warehouse, Yard, Delivery)

Qualifications:

High School/GED preferred, not required

1-year previous Forklift Experience preferred

Basic ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using the English language. 

Forklift Certification a Plus

The employee is to regularly Stand; Walk; Climb or balance; Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk or hear

Must be able to lift 120 lbs.

Work is mostly indoors, but work will be conducted outdoors when necessary

Pay: Starting at $19p/h depending on experience.
