Your new role

As Project Director, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for large, multidisciplinary project teams, driving the successful delivery of landmark infrastructure initiatives. In our internal job structure, you will be classified as Senior Chief Project Manager at level 9, which is equivalent to our department managers.

As Project Director, you will join a team recognized as one of the best in Denmark—renowned for winning and delivering the largests landmark infrastructure projects in Denmark such as the Amager Motorway, Expansion of E45, Marselis Tunnel, M4 Cph, and many more. You will collaborate with top specialists and contribute to projects that set new standards for technical excellence and sustainable mobility. Together, we celebrate our successes and drive innovation in the road and transport sector.

In the role, you will use your expertise to drive project strategy, secure high technical quality, and manage resources across complex delivery setups. You will take ownership of the overall project leadership and design management of large and high-profile infrastructure programmes, from early planning through execution.

As Project Director, you will play a key role in ensuring successful project delivery, while challenging established practices, identifying new solutions, and contributing to the professional development of the project teams you lead.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Set and execute project strategy for mega infrastructure programs, ensuring technical excellence and innovation at every stage.
  • Lead the design management and overall project leadership from early planning through to successful delivery.
  • Mentor and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of ambition, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, positioning Rambøll as the partner of choice for transformative infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues and lead cross-border projects, ensuring effective teamwork, knowledge sharing, and inclusion across cultures and locations.
  • Take ownership of major project proposals, including strategic direction, budgeting, and resource planning

About You
From your first day at Rambøll, we will support your professional growth and leadership development. To succeed in the role, we expect you to bring the following qualifications and capabilities:

  • An advanced engineering degree (e.g., Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar).
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects at program or portfolio level, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding results.
  • Deep knowledge of the regulatory, technical, and operational challenges in the road and infrastructure sector, including cross-disciplinary coordination and cutting-edge design frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in both Danish and English.
  • A strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and the courage to make bold decisions that drive long-term value.
