Job DetailsJob Location: JWV Administration Building - Corpus Christi, TX 78414Position Type: Full TimePRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION Responsible for accurate and timely completion of credit union accounting functions to include general ledger entries and reconciliations, accounts payable, and other accounting duties as assigned.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS   Process accurate general ledger entries.  Ensuring appropriate approval and supporting documentation is received and archived. Complete general ledger reconciliations as assigned, and according to department deadlines. Proactively research and clear outstanding items. Process accounts payable, ensuring appropriate approvals, accurate general ledger expense assignment, and timely payment. Perform broad range of financial reporting, research, and analysis according to established procedures. Other duties as assigned.   RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS   Supervise Approximately:  zero Reports To:  Assistant Manager of Accounting   Contacts:  Frequent contact with staff and other departments face to face and by telephone.RequirementsEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Associate Degree or 64 hours of college credit in business or similar/related field or equivalent.   EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience. Requires firsthand knowledge and proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel).   MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Most important to this position are excellent communication verbal and written, accuracy, initiative, follow through, reliability and an initiative-taker. To perform this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of general accounting/booking principles and Excel skills.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position involves wrist/hand manipulation, restriction to workstation for extended periods of time. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Communication abilities required by this job includes clarity in speech and hearing for effective staff/member interaction.   EQUIPMENT SKILLS Personal computer with windows environment, scanner, calculator, copy machine.
