Job Description:
Department Overview
he FMCG Customer Strategy Department is a business division that operates multiple shops on Rakuten Market, including Rakuten24, a direct sales service for daily consumer goods.
Rakuten24 is a first-party store operated by Rakuten itself on Rakuten Market, making it a rare position that allows you to gain experience as a business company while remaining within the company.
Our department contributes to the business by working on UI/UX improvements, web page production, data analysis, and marketing.
Not only are we limited to processes such as selling ads, driving customers to store pages through events, and delivering created products, but we are also involved in the entire business process, from product procurement to sales, page production, shipping, logistics, and UX confirmation until the product is delivered.

Position:
Why We Hire
As Rakuten24 expands its business, the FMCG Customer Strategy Department is seeking a UX Director to further improve the user experience (UX) and maximize business contributions through page creation and user marketing. The UX Director will play an important role in accelerating Rakuten24's growth by identifying issues, proposing improvements based on user surveys, and taking action themselves.
We are looking for an external candidate who can contribute immediately to the organization's business growth.
Attractive Points
- Consistent involvement from planning to implementation:
Since upstream processes such as planning are handled within the business division, you can track whether the project you participated in contributed to the business, understand the overall picture, and make more effective proposals.
Specifically, everything from planning to implementation and verification is handled within the business division. A culture of data-driven decision-making and A/B testing is deeply rooted, and proposals are verified and results are visualized.
- Experience overwhelming scale and business growth firsthand:
Rakuten24 is a first-party model in which Rakuten operates its own store within Rakuten Market. This means you can experience decision-making as a business company without leaving the company.
In particular, UI/UX improvements are directly linked to business results, so you can experience the magnitude of their impact.
- Combining Rakuten Group resources with the dynamism of a business company:
The greatest differentiating feature is the opportunity to experience both the Rakuten Group's robust technology foundation and extensive resources, and the dynamism that drives the entire business, unique to a business company like Rakuten24. This is an environment where you can utilize a huge ecosystem, abundant data, and the latest technologies such as generative AI. You will experience everything from product procurement to logistics, from upstream to downstream of the business, in-house, and realize how your development contributes to the entire business.
