Rakuten Mobile, Inc. operates as Japan's fourth mobile carrier, providing telecommunications services and related businesses. The Legal Department broadly supports business processes including structural design for diverse businesses and services, operational framework development, contract negotiations, and advertising material reviews. We welcome candidates with corporate legal experience or attorney practice experience who can perform legal duties in such an environment.
Position Details
The following job responsibilities are anticipated, with specific assignments to be determined based on experience and skills:
・Scheme development for new service launches in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
・Analysis and examination of legal issues related to various projects
・Drafting of contracts, terms and conditions, etc.
・Review of personal information protection law compliance and privacy policy considerations
・Handling of litigation, disputes, and other legal matters
Work Environment
Legal Support Section consists of two groups which are S&M legal group in charge of B2C area support and Network legal group in charge of B2B area support. We have 18 staffs in total (including secretaries).
Female ratio is rather high and major managers are female in this organization. Depending on your experience, you will belong to either group, however, you may be assigned to both of B2C and B2B legal issues.
Ratio of new graduate staffs and mid-career staffs is even.
Mid-career staffs have mainly been engaged in legal works in manufacturing industry and telecommunication related industry.
Mandatory Qualifications:
One of the followings:
-In-house legal experiense about 5 years
-Law office attorney experiense about 3 years
Desired Qualifications:
・ Japanese attorney qualification
・ Experience in telecommunications/IT industry
・ Work experience in personal information and privacy-related matters
・ Proficiency in AI and information processing technologies
・ Business-level English

Main office is Rakuten Crimson House, however, Higashi-Shinjuku office is also available to work.
