Driving group-wide risk management activities
In our Risk Management Department, we focus on the following activities in our approach to risk management. (The hiring position will be considered based on your experience and aptitude.)

Position Details

Rakuten Group’s Risk Management plays a critical role in identifying and analyzing risks across diverse business domains, supporting sustainable growth and strengthening resilience across the entire Group.
In this position, you will work across both ERM and incident management domains, building specialized expertise essential for risk management in a global company.


Key Responsibilities
1. Policy & Rule Development (ERM/Incident Management)
Develop, revise, and maintain policies and rules related to enterprise risk management and incident management
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design and implement operational processes


2. Risk Analysis & Risk Assessment
Conduct analysis and assessment for the identification of Rakuten Group’s top risks
Perform regular monitoring and analysis of risks and incidents within business units and group companies
Track the progress and effectiveness of action plans designed to mitigate risks


3. Executive Reporting
Prepare and present materials for the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and risk-related committees
Develop decision-making support materials, including analysis of incident trends and recommendations


4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Internal Support
Coordinate with risk-related departments and business units across the Group
Respond to inquiries related to risks and incidents from internal stakeholders
Contribute to the creation of risk management sections in the Integrated Report and Annual Securities Report


5. Training & Awareness
Provide risk management training and awareness programs for new employees, managers, and group companies
Promote risk awareness and support the development of a strong risk management culture


6. External Engagement & Professional Development
Participate in external risk management conferences, seminars, and study groups
Collect and analyze information on global risk trends and industry best practices


7. Process Improvement (AI/RPA Utilization)
Drive efficiency improvements in ERM and incident management processes
Utilize AI, RPA, and other tools to enhance data analysis and streamline operations

Mandatory Qualifications:

Professional Experience
- Experience in risk management, corporate planning, problem-solving, or research and analysis at operating companies, consulting firms, government agencies, financial institutions, manufacturers, etc.


Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions by applying logical thinking and analytical skills
- Skills in research, data analysis, planning, document creation, and presentation


Communication Skills
- Strong communication and coordination skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including senior management
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and clearly communicate risk-related information


PC Skills
- Basic business PC skills, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in risk management
- Experience in project promotion (structuring, management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, etc.)
- Business-level English skills
- Experience of negotiating and coordinating with overseas group companies and business partners
