The Global Ad Technology Supervisory Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that powers Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across four countries: Japan, Singapore, India and China.

The Technology Management Section boasts a highly motivated, skilled, talented, and approachable team of DevOps engineers distributed across Singapore, India, and China.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

- Involve in supporting the whole process of Development, Production System Operation including system maintenance, monitoring, automation, backend operation, ensuring high availability, regular application release, troubleshooting, middleware performance tuning and collaborate with functional, technical team members to provide high quality services.

- Involve in automation of routine manual production/non-production operation using technologies like Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Terraform etc. Will be the key person to propose, implement automation to increase productivity with High Quality.

- Always improve the system performance, stability to provide 100% availability.

- Should have service ownership mind & proactively able to react to the production issues.

- Propose new technologies, tools, etc. to improve whole process of development, testing and production operations. Strong self-learning ability, motivation to work on new Technologies.

- Work closely with developers, product managers, project managers, team leads, security, and QA team members in different locations such as Singapore, Japan, and India.

- Improve Monitoring, Alerting and complete Observability stack.

- Design strategies for Cloud Migration and execute infra setup on cloud.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Over 5 years of experience on DevOps, handling high traffic production system independently.

- Troubleshooting (middleware, infra etc.), automation, regular operation etc. Hands on with the large and scalable system.

- Experience in cloud preferably GCP, able to understand VPC setup and resource provisioning using Terraform.

- Experience in production automation using Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Terraform etc. Should have real experience in implementation of automation using industry standard best practice, safety.

- Good knowledge in CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins and GIT and Monitoring Systems like Prometheus and Grafana.

- Flexible for emergency support timing based on the business requirement, including Non-Business hour emergency support for critical issues.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experienced in Hybrid Architecture, Managing GCP & on prem VM workloads.

- Strong scripting knowledge like Shell, Python etc.

- Understanding of web application and related specification (security, HTTP protocol, RFC etc.).

- Identify process gaps and recommend on best practices based on industry standards.
