Department Overview

Partner Sales Department

Partner Sales Department is responsible for creating and expanding business through partners (MVNOs and sales agents). Our department lead transformations in the telecommunication industry within Rakuten Mobile’s innovative technology platform.

Partner Sales Section 2

Our mission is to acquire corporate lines, in cooperation with partner agencies. Since we do not sell by ourselves but through agencies, we can develop our coordination and negotiation skills. Because we are an elect few, the scope of work we handle is broad; therefore, enables to acquire not only knowledge in the telecommunication industry, but also in various other contents. In addition, we have an open and flexible environment where you can participate from the planning stage without being restricted to a fixed sales approach.

Specific Duties

Regular meetings with agencies: Once a week, normally via Zoom. Face-to-face communication is also emphasized, so visits may be made as necessary. In the meeting, we confirm the progress of acquisition targets, hear about issues that the agencies are facing, and discuss improvement measures.

Responding to inquiries from agents: We respond to inquiries from agents via phone, Viber, and e-mail.

Internal correspondence: Confirm inventory of devices with relevant departments, request quotations for solutions, check legal matters with the Legal Department, etc.

Internal Meetings: Share status of progress toward goals and discuss issues that need to be addressed. Each team works together to achieve set targets.

End-user management: Sales are responsible for confirming payment status of users acquired by their agents.

Work Environment

Our team consists of two groups, with three to four members in each group, and members oversee approximately 10 distributors each. In addition, the PSD2 section has a six-member sales planning group and an operation group, providing a back-office structure.

Although normal work is based within the office, there are times when visits or domestic business trips are required to meet directly with agents for business negotiations to build firm relationships with them.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

- At least 1 year of working experience

- Experience with Microsoft Power Point/Excel/Word

- Able to communicate in Japanese at a business level

 

Desired Qualifications:

- People who are willing to work with people outside of the company.

- High communication skills and positive attitude.

- Experience of sales (preferably in the telecommunications or IT industry)

- With light footwork.
