Job Overview
This position reports to the Indirect Lending Manager. Assumes the responsibility of the loan manager in their absence. Responsible for providing Indirect auto loan services to Raiz FCU members/potential members through all participating auto dealerships. In collaboration with the Indirect Manager, you will assume responsibility for overseeing loan funding, underwriting, loan servicing, and title management of indirect loans for new and used vehicles. Your focus will be on maintaining compliance with established lending policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Leads team through constant communication, training, on-the-spot coaching, one on one meetings and conducts yearly performance appraisal reviews. $64,024.00-$96,036.00
QualificationsSkills and Experience
Education – Associates degree or minimum of 60 college credits
Minimum 5 years lending experience
Minimum of 3 years of lending authority
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
Previous credit union experience is a plus
Knowledge of Credit Union loan services and policies
Thorough understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, required loan documentation, financial industry concepts and related laws
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Professional phone etiquette, appearance and attitude
Well organized, attention to detail, time management skills
Excellent communication skills over the phone and in person
Strong multi-tasking, teamwork, focus, and sense of urgency
Dealer and member oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and web-based applications
Role Description and Essential Duties
Assist Indirect Manager with planning, directing and monitoring centralized lending operations for Indirect Lending, ensuring goals and objectives are met with respect to lending.
Focus internally on the division milestones, objectives, resources, products, improvements, procedures, and processes.
Stay abreast of changes in the industry, including introducing new systems, work-flows, policies and procedures, to ensure the Credit Union remains on the leading edge of member service.
Strong understanding of Credit Union loan products and services.
Strong understanding of consumer loan underwriting and portfolio management.
Strong understanding of core and loan origination systems and other operating systems pertinent to lending department.
Assume managerial duties in the absence of the manager.
Acts as liaison between dealer representatives and credit union loan officers.
Responsible for visiting dealerships monthly to promote credit union awareness and to cultivate existing and new dealer relationships. Provide ongoing training and coaching for underwriters and processors.
Conduct yearly performance appraisals and monthly 1:1 meeting(s). Track individual progress, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Coordinate the implementation of changes to established policies and procedures
Oversee Loan Officers and Loan Processors to ensure timely decisioning and processing of loan applications.
Daily loan file review of credit applications.
Ensure that all consumer loans are reviewed, processed and funded as efficiently as possible and existing service level standards are maintained.
Create reports for review with dealers to include volume and performance, focused on approval ratios, look to book, charge off and delinquency ratios, and portfolio management.
Provide additional reports to management when requested to include, but not limited to rate surveys, tier analysis, and average rates.
Support Indirect Manager as a secondary administrator for lending related systems.
Collaborate with other internal departments to improve member experience.
Coordinate and cross train with TLC Assistant Manager.
Ensure the Indirect team stays informed of all ongoing changes companywide
Proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional growth and learning
Performs minor maintenance on systems including updating forms/rate sheets, reviewing payment history, downloading documents, and researching outstanding items. Gather data and recommend enhancements to different platforms.
Communicates via phone, loan origination system, e-mails, mailed letters, in person meetings, and other accepted methods of communication.
Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training. Ensures all loan applications are in accordance to established policies, legal and authority requirements and meticulously documents reasoning behind loan decisions.
