Business Analyst - Operations
We’re seeking a highly-skilled Business Analyst to join our Operations team in our Wellington office. In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Business Operations and play a key part in driving business improvement and innovation across a complex operating environment.
What you’ll do
The Business Analyst – Operations will act as a connector between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that initiatives deliver measurable value and align with strategic objectives. You will work with stakeholders across the wider business to gather requirements, analyse processes and recommend (and make) improvements that drive efficiency and innovation.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a mix of innovative thinking, problem-solving, technical expertise, and strong relationship-building skills.
Key responsibilities
Gather, document, and validate business requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements.
Analyse data and processes to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Develop clear and concise documentation, including business cases, process maps, and functional specifications.
Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
Support project delivery by working closely with developers, testers, and project managers.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform decision-making.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience as a business analyst, ideally with experience in financial services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven process improvement expertise.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements.
Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, BPMN).
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage (e.g., Power BI).
