RVA is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Designer to join our Water Resources team in our Toronto office.

The successful candidate will support a variety of projects, including stormwater management, flood control, watershed modeling, and infrastructure design. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, planners, and clients.

Duties:

  • Assist in the design and development of stormwater, drainage, and flood management systems
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for water resources projects
  • Prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications using CAD and GIS software
  • Conduct site assessments, data collection, and analysis to support design recommendations
  • Work with project managers and engineers to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Support the preparation of permit applications and environmental documentation
  • Assist in cost estimation and construction documentation

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a consulting environment working supporting linear infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools
  • Experience with flow monitoring and rainfall data analysis
  • Knowledge of stormwater best management practices (BMPs)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Certifications (Preferred but Not Required): EIT or CET eligibility

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
