About this Role
Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC (QISG), a Quanta Services, Inc. company (NYSE: PWR) is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all field activities related to instrumentation and control systems on assigned projects. This role provides leadership to I&C subcontractors and ensures work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes with interests of QISG, our clients, and our co-workers.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and manage all I&C field operations, including installation, testing, commissioning, and startup
- Supervise and coordinate I&C foremen, technicians, and subcontractors
- Plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements to meet project schedules
- Ensure installation and commissioning of:
- Instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzers)
- PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems
- Control panels, junction boxes, wiring, terminations, and loop checks
- Interpret and enforce drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Electrical Superintendents, Engineers, and Clients
- Lead commissioning activities including loop testing, functional testing, and system startup
- Enforce safety policies and procedures and promote a strong safety culture
- Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with company and client standards
- Assist with progress reporting, cost control, and schedule updates
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues efficiently
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested
What You'll Bring
Required Experience and Education
- Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation and controls, preferably in industrial or utility construction
- Previous experience as an I&C Superintendent or Lead I&C Technician required
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Industrial instrumentation and control systems
- PLCs, DCS, and SCADA
- Commissioning and startup processes
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Preferred Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical degree or apprenticeship in instrumentation, electrical, or related field preferred
- Relevant professional certifications or training in instrumentation, automation, or control systems are an advantage
- OSHA safety training or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - USD $180,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
