About this Role

QISG is seeking a highly skilled Databricks ETL Developer with proven experience in Databricks on AWS to support delivery of the QISG Data Strategy. This role centers on building and maintaining modern data pipelines within our Databricks-based platform, ensuring a scalable, reliable, and well‑structured data foundation for BI, analytics, and AI initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on experience developing ETL solutions in Databricks, including onboarding new data sources (ERP, APIs, and file-based systems) and working within a maturing but pragmatic data architecture. This position requires a developer who can own pipelines end‑to‑end and contribute to continuous modernization of our data environment.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end ETL pipelines in Databricks on AWS, supporting QISG’s Data Strategy from ingestion through curated analytics-ready datasets.
• Implement ingestion patterns for ERP systems, REST/SOAP APIs, and file‑based data sources using Python (3+ years) and SQL.
• Familiarity with Medallion Data architecture for data refinement, ensuring high-quality transformations, governance, and business logic at each stage.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain Databricks notebooks for data transformation, validation, orchestration, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with Database Developers and BI Analysts to translate reporting and analytical requirements into scalable, reliable ETL solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Databricks workflows, optimizing for performance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Create and maintain documentation, reusable ETL patterns, and standards to support long‑term consistency and maintainability.
• Deliver well‑structured, trusted datasets that power BI, operational reporting, advanced analytics, and emerging AI workloads 

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on Databricks experience (AWS preferred).
• 4–6 years of ETL development experience in enterprise data environments.
• Demonstrated success building complex ETL solutions, including ERP and operational/financial data integrations.
• Proven experience building ETL solutions using Databricks on AWS, including SQL, Delta Lake, and Databricks-native workflows.
• Strong SQL skills for transformation, optimization, and query performance tuning.
• 3+ years of Python development experience for API ingestion, data processing, and ETL automation.
• Experience integrating APIs, files, and relational databases into analytics platforms.
• Understanding of modern data governance principles including role-based access control, secure data zones, and structured data organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Travel: Up to 10%
