Your Role: Dispensary General Manager

As General Manager, you'll be the driving force behind your store's day-to-day operations and long-term success. You'll lead a high-energy team, inspire top-tier service, and ensure all operations run smoothly and in compliance with Michigan's evolving cannabis regulations. Your leadership will empower your team, satisfy your customers, and support our mission to bring safe, reliable cannabis to every community we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, train, coach, and inspire a top-performing retail team
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Manage performance, delegate tasks, and support employee growth through regular feedback and mentoring
  • Handle recruiting, scheduling, payroll forecasting, performance reviews, and corrective actions as needed

Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all daily operations including inventory management, safety protocols, and POS transactions
  • Maintain strict compliance with all local, state, and industry regulations (METRC, audits, SOP adherence)
  • Manage online orders and curbside pickups where applicable, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment
  • Ensure loss prevention, cash handling procedures, and security protocols are consistently followed

Sales, Merchandising & Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service standards and create a welcoming retail atmosphere
  • Strategically merchandise the store to highlight promotions and drive sales
  • Use sales and performance data to motivate staff and optimize store results
  • Handle escalated customer concerns and drive repeat business with creative solutions

Cross-Department Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Retail Operations Team, HR, Marketing, Compliance, and Purchasing to align on company-wide goals
  • Coordinate store-level marketing events and promotions to increase brand visibility
  • Maintain a strong line of communication with corporate leadership and contribute to strategic planning

What We're Looking For:

Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years of management experience (Cannabis or retail preferred)
  • 2+ years of retail experience with a strong focus on sales and customer service
  • Strong understanding of POS systems and seed-to-sale tracking tools (METRC, Dutchie, Flowhub)
  • Google Suite proficiency (Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with inventory controls, scheduling, and basic business reporting
  • Cannabis knowledge and comfortable talking about products and the endocannabinoid system (or willingness to learn)

Other Requirements:

  • Must be 21+ with valid ID
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Michigan
  • Flexible availability: evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, lift up to 40 lbs, and work on a tablet or computer for extended periods
  • Must pass I-9 verification and any state-required background checks
