About this role

Sustainability Program Manager plays a key role in managing QTS’s Sustainability program, driving advancement of the program, implementation, communications, and integration of sustainable practices across the company. You will collaborate heavily with cross-functional teams nationwide engaging in communications efforts to further drive corporate sustainability initiatives. Travel as needed, approximately to attend conferences, internal meetings etc. 

With increasing attention from customers, senior leadership and global markets, sustainability is a key pillar of our business with ties to many different areas of the organization. This is an exciting and fast-paced role. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and improve ESG data collection processes by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze and progress against our targets and industry.
  • Track and monitor global regulatory developments and changes to reporting standards.
  • Identify key focus areas, goals, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Sustainability Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage sustainability programs and initiatives that address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, including carbon footprint reduction, resource conservation, waste management, chemical management, social responsibility, and ethical governance.
  • Develop project plans, establish timelines, targets, and KPIs, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery of milestones and objectives. 
  • Assist in preparation of environmental reporting in accordance with globally recognized sustainability frameworks and disclosure protocols .
  • Engage with suppliers to promote sustainability in the supply chain, including development of sustainability audits and assessments .
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to drive collaboration among teams who manage key sustainability KPIs .
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source, automate, and analyze data from company operations, to measure and monitor greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability-related metrics.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years relevant quantitative experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, GHG accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB, SDGs, etc), standards and best practices.
  • Experience in the environmental/financial data audit/assurance process and working knowledge of GHG accounting principles and methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management skills to plan, direct, track and execute activities for current and future sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail is a key component of the position 
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and have positive attitude.
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence and drive projects to completion.
  • Candidate must be motivated, disciplined, and able to work effectively autonomously and understand when to ask necessary questions.
