The AFT Global Business Quality Leader is responsible for executing and continuously improving the quality and customer satisfaction aligned to the business strategy, while ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision for quality excellence. This role drives best-in-class quality systems across business and operational sites focusing on a quality first strategy to help develop Partner of Choice culture. This role will ensure the business and operational sites have strong and consistent QMS, raw material & supplier management, robust product development, 6-Sigma & SPC practices focused on product quality and customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and execute a quality strategy and roadmap for the business, aligned with both business objectives and the company’s global quality architecture.
• Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
• Ensure business quality objectives support and advance the company’s overall goals for quality excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with company-wide quality leaders to share best practices, benchmark performance, and drive harmonization of processes and standards.
Product Quality & Customer Satisfaction
• Translate Voice of Customer (VOC) and emerging trends into actionable quality objectives and improvement initiatives for the business, while ensuring alignment with company-wide standards.
• Establish quality requirements for new and existing products, raw materials, manufacturing and testing process.
• Ensure robust processes for complaint management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure timely and effective response on customers’ requests while keeping aligned to business priorities.
• Ensure capable measurement systems across the different products and in alignment with customer needs, including updating technology as appropriate.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
• Ensure strong cross-functional alignment and execution to drive continuous variation reduction and SPC culture into our product manufacturing operations, raw material & tolling processes and product development teams.
• Identify and leverage best practices to strengthen the quality management system, reduce variation, and elevate quality maturity across business sites.
• Oversee execution of the quality management system ensuring internal and external audits, regulatory compliance, and certification processes for the business are met with sites having a “customer ready” audit culture.
• Ensure effective raw material and supplier management best practices are leveraged across the sites and business.
• Lead and provide guidance on the resolution of complex quality challenges in a way that maximizes collaboration with a sense of urgency.
People Leadership & Talent Development
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality teams, fostering talent pipelines and succession planning in alignment with company standards.
• Provide guidance and training to site quality leaders, ensuring alignment and capability building.
• Drive organizational efficiency with effective information/knowledge repository for product applications and part specification owners
• Ensure customer-facing teams have competency and skills to smoothly engage with customer communications and are capable to drive continuous product quality improvement.
Business Partnership & Collaboration
• Partner with business, commercial, R&D, and operational leaders to align quality goals with business strategy and company objectives.
• Primary interfaces will be Quality, Engineering, Commercial and Operations leaders on routine basis to align on issues, requests, changes and on-going task force or projects across the business.
• Periodic quarterly/semi-annual formal interface with technical engineer or R&D leaders in the business to algin and update on projects and business strategy
• Influence and support product development, supplier quality, and manufacturing excellence initiatives within the business
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science highly preferred; Master’s degree level preferred.
• Expected to have 10+ yrs experience in manufacturing environment relating to semiconductors, advanced electronics or semiconductor materials.
• Experience in formal problem solving and demonstrated cross-site project management. Six-Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred.
• Proven track record in leading business or multi-site quality initiatives and teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional teams and drive change and deliver results in a global matrix environment.
• Deep knowledge of QMS (and applicable standards: ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100), regulatory compliance, and auditing practices.
• Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to resolve high level prioritization conflicts across functions while ensuring delivery of targeted results.
• Demonstrated communications skills to deliver clear and concise message both up to senior leadership as well as across global diverse team to articulate escalations, actions plans or targeted business expectations and deliverables.
