VP, Pricing - Professional Liability & Cyber

  • Location: USA – Any State

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid if within a 50 miles radius to an office location

  • The salary range for this role is:  $186,000 - $349,000

The Opportunity

The VP, Pricing – Professional Liability & Cyber will lead the actuarial team providing pricing services and strategic leadership for all Professional Liability, Cyber, Miscellaneous Medical, and Life Sciences business. The role is business-facing and requires a high degree of creativity, self-direction, and communication skills to be successful.

Your New Role

·         Accountability for end-to-end actuarial pricing analysis to deliver profitable growth for PL, Cyber, and Healthcare. This includes development of pricing tools, portfolio analysis, filings, reinsurance strategy, and business planning

·         Partner with the Underwriting, Claims, Finance, CAT Modeling, and Data Science teams to ensure actuarial analysis incorporates business insight to solve large strategic issues

·         Lead the development and implementation of strategic, long-term risk management by collaborating across the business to reduce organizational exposure to loss

·         Partner with stakeholders at senior levels to assist in meeting their plan and strategic objectives by anticipating risk and market changes

·         Asses new business opportunities, monitor outside trends, analyze competition in the marketplace, and evaluate new product ideas

·         Recommend profitable ratemaking and pricing structures by utilizing innovative actuarial techniques to advise top actuaries on courses of action for major product lines and markets

·         Implement effective pricing processes by partnering with insurance agents and gaining understanding of how business is written

Required Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience:  7 years relevant experience

Licenses/Certifications:  Associate-Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS)

Preferred Competencies/Skills

·         Practical experience in the industry managing an actuarial team or function

·         Extensive experience in the insurance industry involving data analysis, systems, and projects.

·         Experience in corporate or consulting environments, with a focus on general insurance.

·         Experience in leading operational processes and providing technical analysis insights.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with clear written and verbal communication abilities.

·         Experience working with senior management and professionals in the industry.

·         Familiarity with actuarial services and various types of insurance.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
