Senior Claims Representative- Reinsurance

• Location: USA – New York

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid 8-12 day per month in-office

• The salary range for this role is:  $68,000-102,500K

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to deliver high‑quality Re/insurance claim service by accurately assessing coverage, investigating exposures, evaluating and negotiating claims, and resolving assigned matters in accordance with QBE’s Claims Guidelines, policy terms, and applicable regulations. The role may support property and/or casualty claims based on business needs and portfolio composition.

In addition, the role includes developing proficiency in and contributing to the claims audit process, including learning audit standards, participating in audit activities, and supporting continuous improvement across the portfolio. The position also contributes to departmental effectiveness by promoting best practices, maintaining data integrity, ensuring compliance with procedures, and providing clear and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes.

• Resolve non-compliant issues and escalate when necessary.

• Maintain good client relationships and respond to client requests promptly.

• Process incoming insurance claims and determine coverage.

• Set reserves, authorise payments, and settle claims efficiently.

• Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent claims.

• Share information with stakeholders while considering confidentiality guidelines.

• Ensure compliance with accreditation levels and policies.

• Provide clear and timely communication with all stakeholders.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

• Some relevant work experience in casualty and/or property claims

Preferred Work Experience includes:

• Some experience in insurance

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
