QatarEnergy is looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer under the field of Drilling & Productions Solutions.
The ideal candidate should have a profound understanding of the upstream and downstream sectors in the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus in Subsurface and Surface Development & Sustainability, software applications, and industry standards. They must also possess strong vendor management capabilities. As the system owner, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing the related applications and platforms.
A crucial aspect of their role involves expertly overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from requirements conversion and solutioning to contract management, procurement, design, system implementation, delivery, and ongoing support. Their primary focus will be ensuring continuous availability and business continuity of deployed IT solutions through regular maintenance, effective incident management, security & vulnerability management, and proactive risk assessments, thus ensuring elevated levels of maintenance and end-user satisfaction within the organization.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 9 years of progressive and directly related experience.
- Manage and execute multiple high value projects (full project life cycle) related to delivery of IT solutions for the oil & gas industry through contracts and/or internal resources, on time and within budget. For example, implementation and delivery of solutions for field development, digital production optimization, Digital analysis and visualization platform.
- Domain knowledge in Subsurface and Surface Development & Sustainability in Energy sector.
- Ensure high systems’ performance via proper monitoring and analyses
- Analysis business need and advise the best solution / software
- Experienced in managing and executing multiple high value ICT projects, through procurement procedures such as RFP/RFQ development, tendering, vendor negotiations and contracts management, and deliver it on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem solving, persuasion, negotiation, and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate concepts as appropriate to customers, contractors, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and communicate with a multi-cultural and multi-national workforce
- Keep abreast of current technology trends through research and on-going interaction with local, regional and international software providers and other energy companies, in order to ensure the application software used remains current and in line with international trends.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Petroleum or equivalent.
- Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Technical certifications in areas such as Cloud, enterprise architecture, ITIL, etc. are advantageous.
