About this role

About the role:

As the Procurement Manager, your role will be to manage a drive company's supply of products and services. Responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers and to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses in a given product categories, to deliver cost savings targets and interfacing with senior management to ensure best value for the company in line with defined strategic, financial and operational requirements. Driving and motivating the team to achieve these set goals and analysing for any further improvement in the category and department. Managing the assigned team ensuring compliance and high professional standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Support and contribute to the strategic analysis by identifying opportunities to be considered by Line Manager.

  • Contribute to the execution of supply strategy for relevant product categories.

Operational

  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships to ensure QR Technical Group is taking advantage of the best market opportunities and have access to the best positioned and competitive suppliers available in the market.

  • Manage assigned Procurement Specialists to ensure all Team activities are delivered as well as provide guidance and know-how to ensure proper execution.

  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms to obtain the best value for QR Technical Group.

  • Facilitate the ordering of necessary goods and services with the respective QR Technical Teams to execute appropriate POs.

  • Implement contracts coming from awarded tenders as well as those contracts identified as single source.

  • Examine and test existing contracts to ensure all existing and active contracts are in place and review on regular bases the expiration dates to initiate on-time the contract renewal or launch new tenders to market.

  • Guide Direct reports to execute Tenders and Contracts and report the progress on regular bases to ensure all requests and opportunities are executed in time and manner.

  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve team effectiveness by properly supervising the workload and performance at any time.

  • Collaborate with key technical stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the Department.

  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients to protect QR Technical interest by executing right qualitative, quantitative and risk assessment prior executing assigned projects and then executed by direct reports.

  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs having necessary visibility and cooperation with Finance and cost control teams.

  • Support quality control throughout project life cycle by maintaining delivery timelines, mitigating project risks, and act as a liaison with all project stakeholders to ensure effective change management.

  • Review and input to department policies and processes to achieve best practice and continuous improvement.

  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience OR High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 7 years of job-related experience

  • Fluent command of English language. Strong communication skills.

  • Negotiation’s skills.

  • Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately.

  • Developed people management skills, for subordinates, colleagues and superiors.

  • Contractual and Financial acumen.

  • Planning, Problem Solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.

  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

  • Procurement, Finance or Contracts relevant experience.

  • Procurement Management.
