Pyramid Healthcare – ACTT Program
Location: Jacksonville, NC
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Jacksonville, NC. This role is ideal for someone who brings lived experience and a strong commitment to recovery-oriented care. The Peer Support Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in achieving stability, independence, and long-term recovery.
Our ACTT program delivers comprehensive, community-based services designed to meet clients where they are and address mental health, substance use, vocational, housing, and social needs. This position plays a vital role in improving outcomes for individuals most at risk of psychiatric crisis and impacted by social determinants of health.
Utilize lived experience to provide peer-based support and recovery education to clients
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support individualized treatment goals
Assist in developing and supporting treatment plans aligned with mental health and substance use recovery models
Maintain ongoing communication with referral sources and community partners
Manage and maintain accurate client records, including medical documentation, releases of information (ROIs), person-centered plans (CCPs), and discharge/aftercare planning
Participate in daily staffing meetings and rotate responsibility for documenting meeting minutes
Provide or coordinate transportation to help clients access community resources and services
Design and facilitate weekly social, educational, and recovery-focused groups
Assist with emergency services as needed, including crisis planning, after-hours assessments, hospital diversion, and commitment procedures
Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and client care
Required:
North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (NC CPSS) certification
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
