Director of Nursing – Freedom Detox

💵 Salary: $83,000 – $90,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the highest standards of clinical care.
If you are a Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for helping individuals overcome substance use and co-occurring disorders, we’d love to meet you.
As the Director of Nursing, you will:
Lead, mentor, and support the nursing department, fostering a professional and compassionate work culture.
Oversee all nursing activities, including staff development, safety and risk management, budget oversight, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain nurse training and education programs.
Ensure evidence-based nursing practices are implemented across the facility.
Serve as the primary on-call leader for nursing staff (24/7 availability as needed).
Collaborate with facility leaders to manage costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
Integrate nursing care seamlessly into each client’s individualized treatment plan.
Build strong, positive relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
Required:
Current, unencumbered RN license in North Carolina (or reciprocal state).
CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
2–4 years supervisory experience (behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred).
Knowledge of HIPAA, federal and state regulations, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.
Preferred:
Experience in detox, behavioral health, or co-occurring disorder treatment.
Background in substance use disorder treatment.
Competitive salary $83,000 – $90,000
