Dining Services Manager
Inpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Center
Location: Hampton / Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time (Traditional daytime schedule with evening/weekend coverage as needed)
Compensation: Up to $54,000 annually (based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a Dining Services Manager to oversee all food service operations at our inpatient substance use disorder treatment center in the Hampton/Newport News area. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality dining services while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in compliance with all regulatory standards. The Dining Services Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting both client care and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and uphold Pyramid Healthcare’s mission, vision, and core values
Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all food service department operations
Supervise and participate in meal preparation, cooking, portioning, and service following standardized menus and recipes
Lead, recruit, hire, train, schedule, and manage Dining Services staff
Conduct employee rounding, coaching, and performance evaluations
Develop and implement standardized processes to ensure operational efficiency and service quality
Monitor department performance through data analysis and trend evaluation
Manage purchasing, inventory, labor, and departmental budgets
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with the dietitian to ensure client needs and modified diets are accurately met
Address client and staff concerns promptly and professionally
Lead and participate in team meetings, in-service trainings, and continuous improvement initiatives
Complete required reports, including monthly department operations reports
Report and investigate workplace accidents or incidents in accordance with policy
Collaborate closely with facility leadership and other departments
Provide evening and weekend coverage as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Day-to-day supervision of the Dining Services team, including hiring, training, and performance management
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree or higher in food service management, culinary arts, or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of food service operations experience (healthcare, restaurant, school, or similar environment)
At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
Certifications
ServSafe certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
