About our property:

Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center - Benchmark Hospitality
- High-end private hotel and conference center called Deloitte University. Closed to the public.
- 1,400 hotel rooms - all single occupancy, no suites.
- Nine restaurants and lounges including a Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee, and three sit down restaurants.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Cook I is the highest-level cook and will assume lead role in production and execution in the kitchen, as well as training other cooks.  This position may work in our buffet restaurants, employee cafeteria, or high-volume banquet operations.

  • This is a Full Time position.

  • $21.40 per hour.

  • You should be flexible to work weekends, as needed.

  • Location: Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University Hotel & Training Center

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and mentor the culinary team through monitoring production, training, and coaching.  Provide feedback for improvement to the team.

  • Prepare food and menu items according to standard recipes.

  • Monitor production and quality levels of all food products.

  • Assist in developing and presenting new menu items to ensure they stay fresh and innovative for our guests.

  • Receiving and put away food requisitions checking for food products quality and amount.

  • Inspect all refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.

  • Ensure that the stations are set up for service but also clean and that all food items are properly covered and stored at the end of shift.

  • Assist in leading and participating in the preparation and execution of food in other kitchens within the hotel, as needed.  This may include assisting in Banquets, buffet restaurants, a la carte restaurants, or social venues.

What are we looking for?

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years’ culinary experience required.  High volume hotel buffet, brunch, or banquet experience required.

  • Culinary school preferred.

  • Experience cooking with International cuisines preferred.

  • Experience in a kitchen with guest contact, scratch cooking, high volume highly preferred.

  • Advanced knife skills.

  • Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position required.
