Our Financial Crime Technology practice, operating under Forensic Services, focuses on enabling businesses with technologies to proactively detect and prevent financial crimes. Meaningful work you’ll be part of 

As a Financial Crimes Technology Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Working closely with cross-functional teams to provide valuable insights, drive process efficiencies, and contribute to enhance clients’ compliance strategies

    • Using leading-edge technologies and software engineering principles to develop innovative solutions in enterprise risk operations, model implementations, tools development, and special projects as assigned

    • Querying and mining large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examining financial data, and filtering for targeted information that utilize both traditional and predictive/advanced analytic methodologies

    • Communicating cogently when writing, speaking, and/or presenting to senior management, client personnel, client in-house and outside legal counsel, compliance personnel, investigators, vendors or subcontractors, and team members

    • Assisting practice leadership in creating proposals, budgets, work plans, and other business development activities as appropriate

    • Fostering effective working relationships directly with clients and growing your own network

    • Keeping up to date with industry trends and market opportunities

    Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve 

    • Education background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 

    • Intermediate experience with Java programming and Spring Boot framework for developing web applications 

    • Strong skills in RESTful API design, integration, and troubleshooting 

    • Hands-on experience with secure data handling and database technologies including SQL (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, DB2), and NoSQL databases like MongoDB 

    • Familiarity with LDAP and directory services (such as OUD), and implementing SSO, MFA, OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML authentication protocols 

    • Experience deploying and scaling applications using AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) 

    • Understanding of event-driven architecture using Kafka for message streaming 

    • Frontend development experience with Angular, including integration with backend services 

    • Nice to have experience integrating with identity and access management solutions such as Ping, ForgeRock, and Transmit 

    • Proficiency in CRUD operations across SQL and NoSQL databases (SQL, MongoDB, DB2) 

    • Unit testing skills using JUnit for backend and Jasmine for frontend 

    • Familiarity with technical tools including JBOSS, Bitbucket, GIT, Confluence, and JIRA 

    • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps pipeline tools for automated build and deployment 

    • Knowledge of OAuth protocols, event-driven messaging patterns, and API testing with Postman 

    • Operating system familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments 

    • Experience with JBoss scripting and command-line interface (CLI) 

    • This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation

    The salary range for this position is $58,400 - $97,500. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.  We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
