About this role

Our Delivering Deal Value (DDV) consultants help clients deliver increased value on their deal transactions. Our team conducts pre-deal and confirmatory due diligence, executes large scale enterprise-wide integrations, and supports complex divestitures and separations. Our diligence capabilities include a wide range of functional areas such as Information Technology, Operations, Finance, and other back-office functions. On integration projects our teams lead both enterprise wide and function specific integration management, and tactical execution with a focus on realizing deal objectives and synergies. In complex divestiture projects, our team supports both enterprise wide and function specific separation, and evaluates cost requirements, future state operations, and transition services. In addition, we provide mergers and acquisitions (M&A) consulting services, including M&A process improvement, M&A playbooks, and taking control of newly acquired entities.

Meaningful work you’ll be a part of: 

  • Work on a wide variety of interesting, important and challenging projects across multiple industries/ sectors 

  • Conduct due diligence (operations, carve out and standalone costs) with a view to advise clients on deal risks and opportunities 

  • Assist companies with successfully executing integrations/separations/carve-outs - starting with the strategy and vision, establishing the roadmap and leading complex execution programs that will ensure decisions align with achievement of the deal strategy 

  • Provide robust program/ project management across the deal/ transaction lifecycle 

  • Understand the client’s current operating model through an objective assessment of their capabilities – including people, processes, technology, contracts, assets, and define the future state operating model that’s in line with the client and deal vision 

  • Partner with client leadership teams in defining and delivering against value creation plans and synergy targets 

  • Develop, coach, and mentor junior team members, including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback 

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve:

  • Business problem solving capabilities 

  • Experience with integrations and carve outs is required preferably in a global setting with depth in one or more functional workstreams: Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Supply Chain/ Operations or Commercial  

  • Experience with conducting diligence including data requests, management interviews, report development and development of the deal value creation thesis and/or synergies 

  • Advisory experience from a management consultancy, corporate finance advisory firm or as an 'internal consultant' in a corporate is an asset  

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to conduct analysis with spreadsheets, financial and operational KPIs, to create sustainable value for clients 

  • Financial analyst/ modeling experience including synergy and cost saving analysis 

  • Strong communication and presentation capability (reports, powerpoint presentations, excel datapacks and other deliverables)

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.  We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
