Overview We are seeking a driven Sales Representative / Territory Manager to support and grow a surgical device portfolio focused on intraoperative breast cancer detection and a novel hemostasis device used to control bleeding during surgery. This role calls on surgeons in the operating room and requires strong clinical selling skills, case coverage experience, and the ability to manage a multi-state territory.
The ideal candidate has a proven background in surgical device sales and is comfortable supporting complex cases across multiple surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities • Sell innovative surgical technologies used for breast cancer detection and intraoperative bleeding control • Call directly on surgeons in the operating room • Provide clinical support and case coverage during surgical procedures • Build and maintain relationships with Breast, General, Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgeons • Manage and grow a defined territory across Connecticut and upstate New York • Execute territory business plans to meet or exceed sales targets • Conduct product training and in-services with surgical and clinical teams • Track sales activity, pipeline, and territory performance
Territory • Coverage includes Connecticut and parts of upstate New York • Upstate NY cities include Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, and Poughkeepsie • Approximately 30% travel required
Compensation & Benefits • Base Salary: $100,000 • Total Compensation at Plan: $200,000 – $210,000 • Mileage reimbursement (no company car) • Standard benefits package
10,000 stock options awarded upon hire.
Requirements
Required Qualifications • 2–5 years of surgical medical device sales experience • Experience selling surgical devices and/or capital equipment into the operating room • Comfortable supporting and leading cases in the OR • Strong ability to engage surgeons and clinical stakeholders • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals • Willingness to travel up to 30% within territory
Must have experience selling a procedural product in Surgery. Contacts with Breast/General Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists, Vascular, Cardiac, or Thoracic.
Knockout Criteria • Candidates without surgical sales experience will not be considered • Wound care, orthopedic, and spine sales backgrounds are not a fit for this role
