[What the role is]
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across the organisation. In this position, you will serve as a strategic finance business partner to Divisions, providing expert financial guidance and support to enable informed decision-making and operational success.[What you will be working on]
Your key responsibilities include the following:
Finance Business Partnering and Advisory
Serve as the primary finance contact for assigned Divisions, providing expert guidance on financial policies, procedures, and best practices
Support Divisions on budget-related matters including funding proposals, annual budget returns and budget utilisation
Monitor budget performance throughout the year, identifying variances and working with Divisions to implement corrective actions
Evaluate funding proposals to ensure robustness and effective resource allocation
Grants Management
Work with Divisions on the initiation of new grant schemes and the renewal of existing schemes, including the design and administration of grant schemes to ensure proper governance
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure grants received are utilised in accordance with the CDA's frameworks and funding agreements to ensure proper and timely monitoring and reporting
Oversee the complete grants lifecycle from application through to closure, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and optimal utilisation of grant resources
Maintain comprehensive grants registers and coordinate with external auditors during grant reviews
Treasury Operations
Manage CDA's treasury operations and investment activities in accordance with approved investment policies and guidelines, ensuring appropriate risk management and return optimisation
Prepare treasury reports and analysis for senior management, highlighting cash flow trends and liquidity positions
[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Accountancy or Business and/or is a Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant
At least 2 years of relevant experience in budgeting, finance business partnering and/or grant management, preferably in the public sector
Familiar with prevailing Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards, Finance Government Instruction Manuals as well as best practices in financial governance and control
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Effective stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills to co-create solutions
Good team player
Independent and self-driven with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Effective writing and presentation skills, with a good command of English
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
