[What the role is]
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Experience Design will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum content, supervising student projects, and mentoring learners across pre-, in-, and post-course stages. The role involves enhancing pedagogical quality through innovative teaching strategies, evaluating and refining curriculum effectiveness, and leading industry collaborations, competitions, and exhibitions.The candidate will also contribute to school-level initiatives, including outreach, recruitment, and project management, while staying attuned to evolving industry trends. Additional responsibilities include developing Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes aligned with Experience Design.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver courses focused on Experience Design, with a strong emphasis on immersive and interactive environments. This includes curriculum development, course assessment, project supervision, mentoring of students, and providing pre-, in-, and post-course guidance.
• Enhance the quality of lesson design and delivery through implementing teaching and learning strategies that support spatial storytelling, multisensory engagement, and experiential learning.
• Evaluate curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment to ensure alignment with industry standards in immersive media, interactive installations, and experiential environments.
• Lead and contribute to developmental initiatives and industry collaborations, including immersive exhibitions, interactive installations, and experience-driven showcases.
• Stay abreast of evolving trends in immersive technologies (AR/VR/MR), spatial computing, and interactive media through active engagement with industry and professional communities.
• Represent the department in school committees and contribute to administrative and management tasks (e.g., outreach, student recruitment, project coordination).
• Review, formulate, and implement processes in response to new initiatives and strategic directions set by the School/Department.
• Develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes related to immersive and interactive experience design.
[What we are looking for]
• Relevant qualification or at least 5 years of industry experience in immersive experience design, interactive environments, or related fields.
• Passionate about nurturing the next generation of designers in immersive and interactive media.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
• Experience in designing and developing interactive installations, immersive environments, and multisensory experiences.
• Familiarity with spatial computing, generative design, and emerging technologies (e.g., AR/VR/MR, AI-driven interaction).
• Candidate should possess relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Immersive Experience & Media Creation (AR/VR/MR)
• Interactive Installation Design and Development
• Spatial Design and Environmental Storytelling
• Generative and Computational Design
• Multisensory and Experiential Design
• Sustainable and Inclusive Design Practices
