[What the role is]

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.

We are looking for inquisitive, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment.

[What you will be working on]

You will play a major role in administering the building regulations. You will be responsible for:

• Approving submissions on building plans including the designs related to occupant safety, environmental sustainability and barrier-free accessibility;

• Reviewing and developing strategies, policies and processes related to building control;

• Studying and analysing data for trends and information for policy review to shape policy directions in building control;

• Resolving feedback cases and investigating cases of violation of Building Control Act and Regulations for necessary enforcement actions; and

• Working closely with inter-agencies on their technical requirements to foster a pro-business built environment for the industry

[What we are looking for]

• A degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architectural or Building-related discipline.

• At least 5-8 years of experience in building design or construction supervision is preferred.

• Expertise in a technical area under the Approved Document will be an advantage.

• Good command of spoken and written English.

• Good analytical, writing and communication skills.

• Candidates who are registered architects or professional engineers with the Board of Architects or Professional Engineers Board will have an added advantage.
