[What you will be working on]

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to manage and oversee our Government Data Centre, Command Centre, and Incident Management operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in data centre management, real-time command and control systems, and incident response to ensure the highest levels of availability, security, and operational excellence for critical government infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for the Government Data Centre and Command Centre operations, ensuring alignment with broader government and organizational goals.

  • Lead and manage incident management protocols and teams, ensuring timely detection, response, and resolution of incidents impacting government IT infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain long-term technical and operational roadmaps for data centre infrastructure, command centre capabilities, and incident management frameworks to meet evolving government needs.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional government agencies, technology partners, and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, enhance service delivery, and improve operational resilience.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in infrastructure performance, security posture, and operational reliability.

  • Establish and enforce best practices, policies, and standards related to data centre operations, monitoring, and incident response.

  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.

  • Oversee recruitment and talent development for critical roles within the data centre and command centre operations teams.

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, security requirements, and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced monitoring, alerting, and command & control technologies to enhance situational awareness and incident response capabilities.

  • Proactively identify emerging risks, technology trends, and opportunities to enhance the government’s IT operational readiness and cybersecurity resilience.

[What we are looking for]

  • Proven experience managing large-scale government or enterprise data centres with a focus on high availability and security.

  • Extensive background in command centre operations, incident management, and IT service continuity planning.

  • Strong leadership skills with at least 15+ years managing multi-disciplinary technical teams in critical infrastructure environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic roadmaps and operational plans that align with government mandates and public service objectives.

  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and monitoring tools/platforms.

  • Experience working with government agencies or regulated environments is highly desirable.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively across diverse teams and agencies.

  • Passion for public service and commitment to enhancing government operational capabilities for the public good.

  • Ability to mentor and develop technical talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach to incident management and crisis situations.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or data centre management certifications) preferred.
