About this role
The Payment Poster is responsible for posting payments and denials to patient accounts both manually and electronically. Balance, log, record deposits/batches and track completion on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Posts all checks, ERAs, and credit cards to patients’ accounts accurately and timely
- Ensures payments, allowances, adjustments, denials and rejections are posted correctly
- Balances and reconciles daily batch deposits
- Identify and report any payment discrepancies
- Reviews and ensures corrections are made
- Research and clear unapplied payments
- Assists in the month-end closing by ensuring all appropriate information is posted
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in revenue cycle in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge and understanding of healthcare EOBs (explanation of benefits)
- Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel and Word)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- General Math Skills/Proficient in 10-key calculator
