About this role

PSC Group is seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to work in a plastics packaging facility in our in-plant division. This position assists the PSC site leader in driving exceptional safety and environmental performance. The coordinator is responsible for establishing processes and programs around safety that will support our goal that every personal injury is preventable. The Safety and Training Coordinator will continually look for new ideas and resources to help drive safety and environmental performance at the site. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a TWIC prior hire. This is a full-time position with potential advancement opportunities. Leadership experience in a safety, training or operations role is preferred. 


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Regularly coordinates meetings to communicate safety expectations and goals to employees
  • Conducts and documents regular field safety observations and training
  • Reviews safety observation data and develops action plans to address common or repeat issues
  • Tracks safety and training performance of the site utilizing Key Performance Indicators
  • Mentors, coaches, and council’s employees to correct at risks behaviors and reports findings
  • Leads formal Root Cause Investigations and produces written reports with findings and recommended corrective actions
  • Interfaces regularly with our customers’ Health, Safety & Environmental and Training focal points to establish solid relationships while helping to drive common goals in and around Safety and Training
  • Ensures employees take their annual physicals, safety council training, and that other regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Reports all safety information to the Site Supervisor
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in safety, training or operations role
  • Experience in formal incident investigation and OSHA regulations
  • Exceptional communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate information to team in a classroom and field environment
  • Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Great organizational skills
  • Great relationship building skills
  • Excellent team player attitude

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug and alcohol, physical, and background checks
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
