Assistant Manager, Health Analytics supports the Senior Manager, Health Analytics in providing data-driven insights and solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the health insurance business.  This role assists in conducting analysis and implementing operational improvements.  The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing reporting efficiency, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulations. He/ she also contributes to the implementation of advanced analytics capabilities and support the overall data-driven decision-making process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Manager in developing and maintaining regular health MIS reports for management, providing accurate and timely insights and recommendations for in-force health operational and financial measures
  • Assist in conducting in-depth analysis of medical claims data, identifying patterns and insights for cost savings opportunities, detect Fraud, Waste and Abuse, review provider panel experience, and develop prevention initiatives on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager in improving reporting efficiency by reviewing reporting and data preparation accuracy and proposing automation solutions
  • Assist the Senior Manager in collaborating with business stakeholders and internal teams to handle data queries, providing additional analysis and insights
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all data analytics and reporting activities
  • Support the Senior Manager in collaborating with cross-functional teams, technology experts and data teams to build advanced machine learning and AI capabilities for business performance analysis, cost savings opportunities, detect Fraud, Waste and Abuse, review provider panel experience, and develop prevention initiatives
  • Contribute to the creation of internal papers on claims analysis, medical inflation and other relevant topics as assigned by the Senior Manager

Job Requirements:

  • University graduate in Decision Science, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Statistics or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in data analysis and/or data reporting in the financial services industry. Experience in health insurance industry strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in data preparation (e.g. SQL and Alteryx)
  • Proficiency in visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, QlikView)
  • Experience in working with cloud environments is an advantage
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen in health insurance industry, understanding the broader organizational goals and how individual tasks contribute to overall success.
  • Customer-centric mindset with deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to align tasks and priorities accordingly.
  • Result-oriented and adept at prioritizing and executing tasks effectively, even in high-pressure situations, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes that align with business objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex ideas, influencing stakeholders and building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and encouraging cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese languages, enabling effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
