Hours: 12-hour shifts: 5pm to  5:30am

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples and ensuring their quality for laboratory testing. Your role is crucial in assisting physicians with accurate diagnostics and patient care. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
  • Responsible for correct blood collection, draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
  • Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored
  • Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
  • Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order and properly sanitized
  • Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
