Job Summary:

As a Certified Medical Assistant at ProMedica, you will work directly with patients and providers to deliver clinical excellence and enhanced patient experience.  

 

You will prepare patients for visits by taking and documenting vital signs, performing specialized tests and preparing schedules. These tasks require following clinical protocols, regulatory requirements and standards. 

 

Communication is key in this role; you will interact with patients, peers and all members of the health care team. You will also apply your clinical knowledge when answering patient phone calls and relaying messages for providers or nurses. 

 

This position also requires leadership skills as you will act as a resource and role model for Medical Assistants and Patient Service Coordinator teams.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of a recognized MA program at an accredited college or university or worked 1 year as an MA to meet the requirements to become certified. 
  • Experience in the medical industry, including patient care or non-patient care roles. In lieu of experience, will accept continuing education in a healthcare related area of study. 
  • Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant through accredited body required; or active license from applicable state as an LPN/RN.  
  • BLS (CPR), must present a current BLS course card from the AHA at time of employment, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS 

  • 1 year experience in direct patient care.
