Primary Freight Services is seeking a National Air Freight Director to take full ownership of our U.S. airfreight operation. This is a true leadership role with responsibility for profit, performance, and national consistency, backed by an established organization with the stability to support real change.
What You’ll Do
- Own national air freight product strategy and profitability.
- Lead, coach, and develop air freight leadership and operations teams.
- Drive performance against revenue, margin, and service KPIs.
- Oversee pricing, routing, carrier negotiations, and vendor management.
- Ensure operational excellence across documentation, compliance, and execution.
- Analyze P&L and implement improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in air freight leadership within a freight forwarding environment.
- Proven experience managing P&L and driving product profitability.
- Strong working knowledge of rates, bills of lading, routing orders, and Incoterms.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with airlines and vendors.
- Clear communicator who leads with accountability and common sense.
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced operation.
- CargoWise One experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred.

Our Los Angeles Corporate Office has a 58,000 sq. ft. facility located in Buena Park, California. Our warehouse operates under Primary Logistics Services. This facility features a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse expandable as needed up to 167,000 sq. feet in order to accommodate the growth in our comprehensive warehousing and distribution services. Among other features, Primary’s expanded 3PL services include cross-dock, merge-in-transit, trans-loading, devanning, inventory management, and distribution programs.
