Position Summary

The Business Entrepreneurship Teacher and Program Coordinator is responsible for teaching high school business and entrepreneurship courses while leading the development and growth of Prestonwood Christian Academy’s Business Entrepreneurship Program and graduation track. This role combines classroom instruction with program design, industry engagement, and curriculum development to equip students with real-world business knowledge, entrepreneurial thinking, and biblical leadership principles.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, a passion for student mentorship, and the ability to build an innovative program that prepares students for college, careers, and entrepreneurial ventures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruction & Student Development

Teach high school-level business, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship courses aligned with PCA’s academic standards and Biblical worldview.
Create engaging, project-based learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world business applications.
Mentor and advise students pursuing the Business Entrepreneurship graduation track.
Integrate biblical principles, ethics, and leadership into business instruction.
Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to support academic and professional growth.

 

 

Program & Track Development

Design, implement, and continually refine PCA’s Business Entrepreneurship Program and graduation pathway.
Develop course sequences, graduation requirements, and capstone or practicum experiences.
Establish learning outcomes aligned with college readiness, workforce skills, and entrepreneurial competencies.
Identify and implement industry-recognized certifications, competitions, and experiential learning opportunities.

Curriculum & Innovation

Create and update curriculum, syllabi, assessments, and instructional resources.
Ensure curriculum alignment with state standards, college expectations, and industry trends.
Incorporate technology, financial tools, and business simulations into instruction.

Partnerships & Experiential Learning

Build relationships with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations to provide guest speakers, internships, job shadowing, and mentorship opportunities.
Coordinate student participation in business competitions, pitch events, and entrepreneurial showcases.
Help students develop resumes, business plans, and professional portfolios.

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with school leadership, counselors, and C&I teams to support scheduling, graduation planning, and program growth.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Serve as a champion for entrepreneurship education within the high school community.

QualificationsQualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Education, or a related field.
Experience teaching high school or college-level courses or professional experience in business, entrepreneurship, or finance.
Teacher certification in the area of assignment.
Strong understanding of business principles, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.
Commitment to Christian education and modeling biblical character and leadership.
Prestonwood Baptist Church member preferred

 

Physical, Mental Requirements and Work Environment:

Regularly sitting at the computer requiring repetitive finger motion and manual dexterity
Up to several hours of walking and standing during events
Subject to working more than required hours during certain event
Ability to manage multiple coinciding projects
Close visual acuity required for viewing a computer monitor, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and reading
Hearing – ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
Talking – expressing ideas by means of the spoken word to convey instructions to students, parents and other workers
Ability to communicate effectively, even in stressful situations
Professional appearance and dress required, as this person is often the “host” of PCA-wide meetings and events
Primarily inside, office environment with the exception of hosting or attending a few outside events throughout the year
Occasional lifting of 5 to 25 pounds
