General Summary/Responsibilities:

Administers a comprehensive health service program that helps students achieve maximum benefit from the educational program.  Note: The assessment/treatment of students is limited to the evaluation of symptoms and administering emergency first aid.  Guardians are encouraged to contact a licensed medical provider for additional services.  Duties may require traveling to buildings throughout the district.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Meets all mandated health screening requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  • Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team.
  • Commitment to keep current with workplace innovations that enhance personal productivity.
  • Extensive knowledge of normal growth and development. Ability to access pharmacology information and community health resources appropriate to the needs of students.
  • Meets all requirements to maintain CPR instructor certification, including teaching a minimum of 2 classes per year.
