Job Purpose:
This position leads complex productivity reliability focused projects for LGUS, partnering with business stakeholders at multiple levels to align on the needs and opportunities to the organization. The primary focus will be on implementing best practices and reliability improvement projects nationally for the CO2 and Liquid Hydrogen (LHY) business.
The candidate will identify, prioritize, build regional and national support also manage and implement the productivity improvements across all regions.
Scope:
This position works under minimal supervision, with guidance in only most complex situations. Responsible for oversight and/or leadership of multiple productivity projects which are broad in nature, often across multiple sites. The role requires strong knowledge of CO2 and LHY operations and reliability. Responsibilities include teaching the application of advanced productivity tools and discipline as needed, overcoming resistance to change, achieving the desired cost impact targets by skillfully implementing productivity projects, collaborating with and learning from stakeholders at various levels, in particular, senior engineering, operations directors/managers, product management, technicians, reliability, distribution, and maintenance personnel to align and drive initiatives for operating plants within the United States.
Utilize learnings and system interdependencies to improve plant/product line KPI’s, identify cost reduction/capital project opportunities, and increase plant profitability.
Candidate will interface with critical product line support groups (LCO2 & LH2) frequently. Reliability improvement related projects will be the primary focus.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the LGUS Associate Director of Productivity. May train and coach junior level professionals on complex projects and troubleshooting. Leads project teams using a variety of productivity tools. May direct others on projects across multiple sites or regions.
Principal Responsibilities:
Desired Experience / Characteristics:
Ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of CO2 and LHY operations and reliability
Familiarity with current maintenance standards, predictive technologies and best practices.
Must be a self-starter, with a proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Ability be able to manage multiple projects and priorities and lead/influence teams
Project Management experience is a plus
Demonstrate experience in process monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization
Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to influence required
Strong communication skills - written and verbal
Must be willing to travel up to 25%25 as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or graduate degree in a field of science
10+ years engineering experience in equipment design, reliability, maintenance, production, or projects associated with the chemical, industrial gases or refining industries
Green Belt training or certification preferred
