Region Distribution Manager  

Location: Burr Ridge, IL preferred, willing to consider other locations within LG&E's Central region

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Region Distribution Manager to join our team! The Region Distribution Manager directs the planning and implementation of distribution activities including fleet management, compliance and training, and coordinates planning of product distribution for optimal usage of drivers and assets.

Pay range: $110,000 - $140,000 yearly

What you will be doing:

·       Develops and implements optimum routing schedule.

·       Directs the implementation and provides ongoing management/support to Accustar & Roadnet

·       Implements all Distribution processes in accordance with Linde procedures

·       Develops Distribution Cost Reduction Programs using 6 sigma / Lean techniques

·       Networks with other Regional Distribution Managers and the National Distribution Manager to ensure transfer of best practices and implementation of Company initiatives

·       Coordinates DVS (Driver Vehicle Services) activities with the field

·       Fleet database management, vehicle ordering and transferring

·       Ensures programs are in place for Region Driver Safety Performance

·       Leads the regional activities pertaining to DOT compliance

·       Manages the Distribution cost center in line with agreed budgets and KPI's

·       Partners with Plants & distribution locations to develop yearly distribution budgets

·       Develops a culture of motivated, trained Drivers who are responsive to Customers' needs

·       Ensures that training and development programs are in place

·       Ensures that all trucks are properly maintained and are a good advertisement for Linde

·       Designs transportation strategy

·       Develops routing and sourcing options and standards

·       Selects carriers - interface with global strategies and negotiate with locals

·       Maintains systems for inbound, intra-company and outbound transportation.

·       Identifies freight consolidations

·       Traces shipments as necessary

·       Documents shipments and pay carriers

·       Audits freight bills

·       Develops loss and damage claims evidence, process claims, collect money

·       Other duties as assigned

What makes you great:

·       Bachelor’s Degree is required

·       Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operations/distribution environment.

·       Industrial gas experience preferred
