Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager- Specialty Products to join our team! The Assistant Plant Manager supports the Plant Manager in leading daily operations of a specialty gas production and cylinder filling facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant plant activities while driving operational excellence, quality performance, and employee development. The Assistant Plant Manager acts as second-in-command for plant operations and assumes leadership responsibilities in the Plant Manager’s absence.

What you will be doing:

 

·         Responsible for site personnel safety, capital assets, and the environment.

·         Supervise operators, technicians, and support staff in coordination with the Plant Manager.

·         Ensure full adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and industry-specific gas safety standards (e.g., CGA, NFPA). Leads and participates in local safety programs and initiatives, including but not limited regularly scheduled site safety and toolbox meetings. 

·         Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and corrective action programs.

·         Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive measures

·         Responsible for building, developing, and leading a high performing team, with talents and characteristics to achieve the sites and overall Linde goals.

·         Foster’s a cooperative, team environment, conducive to diverse backgrounds, opposing viewpoints, and open exchange of ideas and provides timely and constructive feedback, with objective of continuous employee development.

·         Monitor key operational KPIs: production output, scrap rates, downtime, ontime delivery, and gas purity performance.

·         Optimize resource allocation, personnel scheduling, and material flow to meet customer demand.

·         Coach and develop team members, fostering cross-training and operational discipline.

·         Develops and ensures appropriate production planning and scheduling to achieve short- and long-term production demands to published on time delivery to our customers.

·         Demonstrates a working knowledge and understanding to continue the operation’s ISO 9001, 17025 and 17034 accreditations by maintaining the level of operational discipline where the team meets and exceeds the requirements associated with these accreditations.

·         Continually strives to meet customer expectations and promptly take action to correct discrepancies and prevent recurrence.

·         Develops and maintains relationship with commercial team and customers to help define and steer new business opportunities.

·         Provides assurance and data to current and future customers regarding process capabilities, capacity, and supply chain integrity.

·         Oversee maintenance activities and ensure high equipment reliability through preventive programs.

·         Communicates site and division performance to local personnel.



 

What makes you great:

 

·         A bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Chemistry preferred.

·         Minimum of 10 years’ experience and demonstrated skills in Specialty Gas Operations.

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operation Management; previous plant laboratory or production management experience is preferred.

·         Demonstrated commitment to Safety and Environmental policies and principles

·         Strong record of building and developing high performance teams.

·         Experience controlling and monitoring plant operating budgets and P&L management experience.

·         Quality management experience in an environment with a focus on process control and continuous improvement, preferably in the ISO framework.  

·         Proficiency with ERP systems, production planning tools, and Microsoft Office.
